Our Story

Chinese Laundry, founded by Robert and Carol Goldman in 1971, is a privately held Los Angeles-based women's footwear company. Chinese Laundry has grown from a small shoe manufacturer to a globally recognized fashion footwear distributor. Over the past three decades, we've grown to a family of four brands: Chinese Laundry, CL by Laundry, 42 Gold, and Dirty Laundry. Each brand offers a unique product to meet the needs of various consumers.

CHINESE LAUNDRY,

 our flagship brand, first hit the market in 1981 - in 2016, we celebrated our 35th anniversary. With over 1 billion dollars in sales, Chinese Laundry is distributed in over 30 countries, including domestic retail locations in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Chinese Laundry defines its style as fun, modern, feminine, and free. Products range from dress heels to casual flats, all designed to meet the needs of millennial women on the go.

 is for the modern woman willing to take fashion risk. Styles are clean, playful, and versatile. 42 Gold is passionately designed, attainable luxury. 42 Gold is for the confident thinker and doer in all of us. 

CL BY LAUNDRY

 joined the Chinese Laundry family in 2003. CL by Laundry responds to trends in the market and translates the ideas into affordable, easy-to-wear styles. CL by Laundry shoes transition seamlessly from work to dinner. Our customers are style conscious, young in spirit, and intent on buying styles that deliver great value.

DIRTY LAUNDRY

 our youngest brand, launched in 2008. The brand was created with the expressive, confident, and fearless girl in mind. Our customers experiment with fashion and are inspired by the style of musicians, celebrities, and fashion influencers. Whether she's feeling sport casual or bohemian chic, our girl can always count on Dirty Laundry to complete a look.
